Mount Tomah Photowalk Wrap Up
I know that we say it a lot but we really do mean it… A very big thank you to everyone that made the trek out to Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens at Mount Tomah to join Ben Fewtrell, and myself, Rob Potter for another spectacular photowalk.
For those of you that didn’t make it, as mentioned, we held a photowalk at the beautiful Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens at Mount Tomah in May of 2015. It was great to see such a big turn out, especially since Mount Tomah is quite a distance to travel from Sydney.

With all of the rain that we have had in Sydney before the photowalk, it was great to see the sun shining bright with such a beautiful day even if it was a little on the chilly side. Being autumn too, there were some trees that were showing off their autumn colours. This just added to the beauty of the gardens which were all in immaculate condition as was to be expected.
This meant that there were loads of great photos captured on the day. We have a couple of the photos shared here within this page but jump over to the Photowalk Guys Facebook page to see even more stunning images taken by the great group of people that joined us.
For the first part of the day, we ran our first ever joint Photowalk Guy Workshop. Ben kicked it off by teaching participants how to use their cameras; including the exposure triangle and how to manually adjust the camera for any light situation. I, Rob, was next with a lesson about Photoshop including which version of Photoshop you should get, what all of the menus and tools means and how to make some simple changes to make your images even better.
Deaf Photography Group:
It was fantastic to see a very enthusiastic group of Deaf Photographers having come out and joined us for the photowalk. Thomas, who is part of the group, has attended one of our photowalks before and returned with a bunch of friends, lead by Sue and translator Shaun. It was so cool to get to meet these guys and they took some killer photos.
Looking forward to seeing them at future photowalks! 🙂
The Dare that went downhill… Quick!
We did come across one pretty steep hill when roaming around the gardens looking for a place to photograph. Alex Taylor of Visual Cocaine was quick to suggest rolly pollies down the hill and I was quick to follow. However I didn’t realise just how quick I would be tumbling, head over heels down this hill, hoping to avoid any and all trees.

Our upcoming July photowalk:
Orginally our next photowalk was going to be held at the Lithgow Blast Furnace as we have been there before and everyone really loved it and wanted to go back. However, unfortuatley we have heard that the council is going to be constructing a wall around the park in the near future which might not make the grounds accessible.
So instead we will be heading north too the beautiful Nobbys Head Lighthouse at Newcastle. This will be our first photowalk at Newcastle and we are both really excited about it. For all of the details for our next photowalk, visit out ‘Upcoming Photowalks‘ page.
